    As noted in selected course descriptions, some courses will be taught entirely online. Students may be expected or required to use the Internet and the College's Internet-based course delivery program. Registered students may access the Internet from computers located on the main campus in Springfield or from their own personal computers.

    The comment, "Taught online", means a student does not have to physically attend classes on campus. The course instruction is delivered 100% via the Internet.

    	ST: Advanced Manufacturing & Materials Processing - in class only - This course introduces the fundamental principles and recent developments in the fast-growing field of advanced manufacturing, which includes Transport Phenomena in Manufacturing, Microfabrication, Additive Manufacturing, Laser materials processing, and Smart manufacturing. Emphasis will be laid on the underlying physics and limitations of existing technologies leading to methodologies for new process and product innovations. Lectures will be complimented with demonstration of lab scale production of multi-material fibers with applications in electronics, energy and biomedical industries. Each student will submit a design project proposal utilizing the methods and knowledge learned in this course to address an unmet societal need. The methods of assessing students include homework assignments, lab reports, and the final design project.
