    Academic Advisement and Registration:
Students should consult their academic advisor for all questions related to advising and course selection. See University catalogue for additional information on academic advisement, and/or the Colleges' academic advising web site(s), or the Academic Support Center

ATTENTION Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Students:
Seats in appropriate course offerings are often "saved" for freshmen and transfer students. As a result, some course sections (i.e. designated as "Freshmen Only Sections") may be prematurely marked CLOSED in order to save the necessary seats for the Orientation and Registration Program.

Use of the Internet and Kodiak log-in instructions.
As noted in selected course descriptions, some courses will be taught entirely on-line. Students may be expected or required to use the Internet and the College's Internet-based, Kodiak, course delivery program. Registered students may access the Internet from computers located on the main campus in Springfield or from their own personal computers.
The comment, "Online w/Kodiak", means a student does not have to physically attend classes on campus. The course instruction is delivered 100% via the Internet - either synchronously or asynchronously.

ST: DESIGN OF DIGITAL INTEGRATED CIRCUITS - OFFERED W/CPE 591 - The general objective of the course is to introduce students to the building blocks of digital integrated circuits including combinational and sequential logic circuits. The course will also introduce current state of the art CMOS transistor design for digital circuitry. The course will feature a semester long project designing a Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) cell and all peripheral circuitry associated with a fully functional design. Throughout the semester, Spice will be used to emphasize and to help in understanding important concepts of the course as well as a tool for solving homework problems. Students will gain experience laying out the physical hardware associated with design. The primary methods of assessing student learning are homework assignments, quizzes, exams, and a term project.

ST: Advanced Materials: Engineering, Science, Processing and Design (3 cr) - This course builds on the foundation presented in ME 309: Materials Science and Engineering. This course covers the science, technology (fabrication technologies) and state of the art in atomistic, molecular and multiscale design on advanced materials performance. We will cover issues in mechanical design that address stiffness limited design, strength limited design, and facture limited design. Additionally, we will explore the use of materials at high temperatures and the durability of these materials in corrosive or oxidation environments. Lastly, manufacturing processes will be discussed in terms of introducing selection strategies based on the structure developed during the manufacturing and the concept of embodied energy and the impact the process has on our environment.
