SPRINGFIELD, MA…CNN news anchor Wolf Blitzer delivered remarks at
the Western New England College traditional undergraduate Commencement
ceremony on Saturday, May 22 at the Alumni Healthful Living Center. Blitzer
received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the College. In addition,
Peter L. Picknelly Sr, local philanthropist and president of Peter Pan
Bus Lines, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the College.
In his remarks, Blitzer told the 462 undergraduates
who received diplomas that even despite the continuing threat of
terrorism, “good can occur when faces in the crowd refuse to be
anonymous.” He urged the students to get involved with world affairs
and work toward solutions for the world’s problems.
